Home weeks later, another high temperature caused the first of hundreds of seizures. Ruby was rushed to intensive care but wasn't responding to the drugs given to her. After six weeks in the hospital, Ruby was diagnosed with a very rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy. The prognosis given by the doctors was very poor, with the diagnosis of epilepsy referred to as uncontrollable, and Ruby's parents were told that her mental development would be severely affected.
After her first visit to the Foundation's clinic, Ruby stopped having seizures. A year and a half after her first treatment, continuing with a visit every month for treatment, Ruby had only one series of convulsions - nothing like the outcome the medics suggested - and today she is making good progress towards fulfilling her potential and returning to the happy andconfident child she once promised to be.
"David was being sick after breastfeeding and generally not feeling settled. After treatment he seems happier in himself, sleeps well and is more confident."
