Our vision is to ensure that paediatric osteopathy - a gentle, effective and environmentally-friendly treatment - is established as the first recourse for parents and carers concerned for their child's health. We accomplish this by raising awareness of paediatric osteopathy, participating in research, training paediatric osteopaths and providing free treatment to babies, children and pregnant and post-partum women.
The Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy is the only charity of its type in the world. Our life-improving service provision continues to increase year-on-year and we will provide over 30,000 free treatments in our clinics during 2008. This success is possible only through the continuing generosity of the public, so we do encourage families, if able, to make a donation.
We were established in 1991 and since then have grown in leaps and bounds. From a half-day's worth of treatments in rented accommodation, we now have three clinics: our headquarters in Clerkenwell, London; a two-day clinic in Manchester; and a one-day clinic in Battersea, London.
In the fullness of time we will have satellite clinics throughout the UK.
"My son had very bad asthma, but now he has fewer colds and copes better when he does feel under the weather. It's very rare for him to use his reliever now. He's also sleeping better at night."
